Sweet Relish

Base
- 4 quarts cucumbers, ground
- 2 quarts onions, ground
- 5 tablespoons salt
- Let stand for 2 hours and then drain excess liquid.
Brine
- 6 cups sugar
- 5 cups vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 2 tablespoons mustard seed
- 2 tablespoons turmeric
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- Bring just to a boil and put in 1-quart jars. Seal.
- If thin, cook longer.
