Rye Boat

- 1 ⨯ 1-pound round rye bread (or pumpernickel)
- 2 cups sour cream
- 2 cups mayonnaise
- (optional) 4 ounces cream cheese
- 4 ounces dried chipped beef (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon dill weed
- 1 teaspoon Beau Monde seasoning
- (optional) 2 teaspoons parsley
- (optional) 1 can water chestnuts (chopped)
- Mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, cream cheese and dried beef in a bowl. You can use equal amounts, but some prefer less mayonnaise than sour cream.
- Cut out the bread loaf, creating a bowl.
- Cut up the rest of the bread in chunks, 1-inch cubes, maybe a little bigger/smaller depending on preference.
- Add spices and water chestnuts.
- Empty the mix into the bread bowl, placing the bread chunks around the outside.
