Raisin-filled Cookies

Family Vegetarian
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup milk
- 3½ cups flour (sifted)
- ½ cup vegetable shortening
- 1 egg, well-beaten
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
Filling
- ¾ cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup boiling water
- Knead dough and roll thin.
- Boil filling until thick, then cool.
- Form cookies.
- Bake at 350°F for 12 minutes.
