Italian Meatball Sub

Meatballs
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup dry breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ pound pork sausage
Sauce
- 1 ⨯ 15-ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 ⨯ 6-ounce can tomato paste
- 1 small onion, chopped
- ½ cup green bell pepper, chopped
- ½ cup beef broth
- ⅓ cup water
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- (optional) fresh basil, chopped
- Make meatballs by combining eggs and milk, add breadcrumbs, cheese and seasoning then add the meats.
- Mix well and shape into 1-inch balls, broil or sauté until brown, and put into slow cooker.
- Combine sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs.
- Cover and cook 4-6 hours.
