Chocolate Pecan Pie

Favorite Personal Vegetarian
- 1 8-inch deep dish pie shell, unbaked
- 1 – 1½ cups broken pecans
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup butter
- ¾ cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup light corn syrup or molasses
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- (optional) 1 tablespoon rum or brandy
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Brown pie shell for 5 minutes. Allow to cool.
- Reduce oven heat to 350°F.
- Cream butter and brown sugar. Beat in one egg at a time.
- Add salt, molasses, vanilla, rum or brandy, chocolate chips and pecans.
- Fill the shell.
- Bake the pies for about 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the filling comes out clean.
Tips
- Instead of one deep dish pie shell, you can use two regular.
